At the age of 23, Ron Funches debuted as a comedian and took the comedy world by storm with his loveable laid-back stage attitude. He is a fantastic actor and stand-up comedian. He’s amassed an impressive resume.
Whether it’s contributing his voice to Trolls, Bob’s Burgers, and Adventure Time, or appearing in smash shows like The Goldbergs, Blackish, and New Girl, he’s made a name for himself.
He’s also a fantastic writer. The Eric Andre Show, The Kroll Show, and other television pilots are among his writing credentials. As if that weren’t enough, Funches is also a great father. He raised his autistic son as a single parent for a long period.
Ron Funches on Raising His Autistic Son
Funches frequently discusses his autistic son as a stand-up comedian. His conduct is fascinating because of his openness to his son’s predicament. He comically discusses the difficulties of raising a son with autism, taking care not to criticize or offend the autism community. Funches recounted his experience raising a mixed-race son with autism during an interview with late-night presenter Conan O’Brien on his show.
Funches’ kid is named Malcolm, and despite the fact that he is almost an adult, he avoids leaving him home alone. They have a full-time nanny, he revealed. This was not because his son need one, but because the comic was afraid of what may happen if misunderstandings led to confrontations with those in positions of authority, such as the police.
You don’t want the cops if things are getting out of hand because you’re afraid they’ll make things worse. Their goal is to rapidly restore peace, which may necessitate shooting someone. Funches stated that he had always protected his son in order to prevent such occurrences from occurring. He also believes that trained health-care experts, rather than police officers, should handle similar situations.
Having a Wedding on the middle of a Pandemic
After several years of raising his son on his own, it appears that Funches has finally found someone to lean on when things become tough. During the pandemic last year, he married Christina Dawn, his girlfriend. Unfortunately, the majority of people are only aware of Funches’s wife because of the comic. The couple maintains a low-key relationship, but Funches revealed how they met in a tweet.
They appeared to have met through a dating app, and he even gave her a nickname. Funches appeared on Team Coco after their wedding to discuss about his covid wedding. In November 2019, the couple got engaged, and he confessed that marrying was the best decision he’d taken in a long time.

He explained that COVID forced them to have a small wedding, which served as a “great reason not to invite racist family members.”
After his first unsuccessful marriage, Funches stated he never expected to have a second wedding, but quarantining with his fiancée convinced him he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. Ron’s occasional social media updates show that the pair is having a happy married life.
