Rene Marsh, a well-known American television reporter, has been a part of the CNN network since 2012.
The journalist’s life, however, took a tragic turn in April 2021 when she and her husband, Kedric Payne, had to deal with the death of their young son from cancer.
Early Life
In Binghamton, New York, Marsh was born on April 18, 1982. She was raised by her adoring parents and her journalistic sister Michelle Marsh, who has won an Emmy. Her family is incredibly dear to her, and she frequently expresses her love for them in her Instagram posts.
The journalist is a distinguished Binghamton University alumnus who also holds a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Syracuse University.

Since joining CNN in 2012, Marsh, 39, has focused primarily on covering government regulations and aviation-related topics. She has provided coverage for about 800 CNN-affiliated stations.
She has covered important stories for CNN over the years, including the Asiana Flight 214 tragedy, same-sex marriage, and the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling on the Affordable Care Act. She has also covered a number of other important topics and provided important political coverage throughout the presidential race.
Marsh covered sports, regional news, and education while working as a journalist for WSVN prior to joining CNN. Additionally, she worked as a host on KTAL and CBS.

The couple had their son Blake in March 2019, making three people in total. But he soon received a diagnosis of pediatric brain cancer, which ultimately claimed his life in April 2021. In a short Instagram post honoring her 2-year-old, Marsh expressed her sorrow and gratitude for his existence.

Although she was devastated, the resilient mother maintained the strength to confront the terrible truth, and she is now motivated to support the kids fighting cancer.
