Gavin Houston, born Gavin Alexander Houston on December 10, 1977, is a native of Brooklyn, New York, in the United States. His parents are Collette Houston and Lloyd Houston, and he has an elder sister named Tonza.
Gavin earned a theatre degree from the University of Florida. He also took acting classes at the Manhattan Theatre Club.
Zoey Houston is the name of the daughter of Gavin Houston.

When Gavin Houston was just a young child, he started his acting career in New York. In addition to several television and print advertisements, he also had an appearance on The Cosby Show.
He started acting in shows both on and off-Broadway after graduating and receiving training in theater. He gradually began to appear in television programs; his first job was in the defunct CBS daytime drama Guiding Light, where he played Remy Boudreau (from 2002 to 2006 in ninety episodes).
Then, in 2007, he played a brief part in the TV series The Singles Table as Rick. The following year, he played supporting roles in the TV shows Wizards of Waverly Place as Paul and Without a Trace as Vince.
Finally, in 2010, when he was chosen to play Sly Thomas in the television series General Hospital, he received his big break. He played Tony Foster in the TV show The Bay that same year. He made two film appearances the following year: Spike as Mike Chase and The Rum Diary as Sailor.
In the critically acclaimed television series The Haves and the Have Nots, he played Jeffrey Harrington in 2013. Then, in the television film Presumed Dead in Paradise, he played Blake in 2014.
He made his acting debut two years later, in 2016, as Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds in Toni Braxton: Unbreak My Heart and Lance in The Secret She Kept. Then in 2018, he appeared as Ed Benson on Grey’s Anatomy and as Hulking Jock in the movie Con Man.
