She has won numerous awards for her work. She was honored by the National Council of Negro Women with the Bethune Recognition for Women in 1999. In 2000, a YMCA Black Achiever Award was presented. Likewise, Today’s Chicago Woman recognized her as a Rising Star in 2003.
She later joined the National Association of Black Journalists as a legitimate member.

On October 17, 1972, Karen Jordan was born in Nashville, a city in Tennessee. Robert Jordan, her father, and Sharon Jordan, her mother, raised her in Evanston, Illinois.
Her father was a reporter and anchor for the Chicago-based television station WGN-TV in the past. Additionally, her father, who worked in television news for more than 43 years, is considered one of Chicago television’s giants.

She completed her studies at Spelman College in Atlanta and graduated in 1994 with a B.A. in English. She then enrolled at the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. She later earned a Master’s in Broadcast Journalism in 1995.

They first rejoiced in the birth of a girl called Vivian Jordan on August 11, 2012, blessing their union. Later, on February 28, 2017, they received another blessing when a boy named John Robert Farr was born.
Since then, the married couple has been spotted taking their two kids to parks and other locations.
As they reflect on their relationship, they can see that it all began when they first met and later became engaged on June 21, 2001. They even made the announcement that they will exchange wedding vows in August 2001 after becoming engaged.

Career In Journalism
After being hired as a general assignment reporter by WIFR-TV in 1995, Karen Jordan’s career as a journalist officially began. She was employed there till 1997. She had worked as a radio reporter for WMAQ-AM in Chicago before joining WIFR-TV.
She also worked as a weekend anchor and general assignment reporter for WKEF-TV in Dayton (from 1997 to 1999). She then worked as a principal anchor and reporter for WRGT-TV in Dayton, Ohio, for a year starting in 1999.
Later, she worked as a daily anchor and newscaster for several news organizations, including WPHL-TV in Philadelphia. She also used to anchor, do assignment reporting, covering breaking news, and cover local stories for WPHL-TV. She joined WPHL-TV in 2000 and left in 2003.
Karen finally started working at ABC 7 Chicago in July 2003. She has been exhibiting her abilities ever since, and as a result, she has won a lot of admirers.
