She was cast in the Netflix series “Never Have I Ever” as Devi Vishwakumar. Mindy Kaling, the show’s creator, chose her from a pool of 15k applicants for an open casting call in 2019. She made the audition film at a nearby library, using her mother’s camera, as it was her first real role. After sending four additional videos to the show’s makers, she qualified for a screen test in Los Angeles and was cast in the part at the age of 17.
