“London, I’m grateful for the incredible experience. I was utterly charmed by your beauty and intricacy the instant I got here ten years ago, and I still am now. I’ll always cherish the particular place you hold in my heart. In the same breath, I’m so eager to return home, Erin said in her final piece for CNN.

Erin Mclaughlin, a well-known former CNN correspondent, left the network after more than ten years to embark on a new adventure.

Erin McLaughlin: Early Life, Age, Wiki, Parents, Ethnicity

Erin was born in Los Angeles on August 24, 1980, to a Southern Gospel lead vocalist. Her mother plays the violin as well. Erin’s parents provided her with musical inspiration, and she spent eight years playing alto saxophone in a jazz band.

McLaughlin excelled in sports throughout high school, participating in volleyball, softball, basketball, soccer, and many more. Additionally, Erin volunteered for a number of charities.

McLaughlin wanted to be a journalist since he was nine years old. She used to publish articles in her own fake newspaper on the history of Iraq and the Gulf War of 1991.

Erin found that Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism program had more aspiring journalists than it needed, therefore she could not continue with her undergraduate studies in journalism despite this.

Erin gave her thoughts on the subject to the BerkeleyHaas Newsroom and said,

“I quickly realized journalism was going to be a tough road.”

She thus earned a high honors degree in business administration from the University of California.

But she never allowed her aspirations to waver and gave it her all to succeed in the journalistic industry. And at age 41, she has achieved fame, notoriety, and glory in the industry.

Erin’s New Journey?

Since she graduated, Erin has been a member of the CNN family. Therefore, it was expected that she expressed her gratitude in a message on Instagram before leaving the business.

However, McLaughlin began her writing career while still a college student by contributing to The Daily Californian. In 2003, Erin was given the chance to serve as an intern and eventually joined CNN San Francisco. She then began working as a researcher for CNN Atlanta in 2004 before relocating to London to work as an international CNN journalist.

Her experience working for CNN shaped the person she is today. She covered terror attacks, such as the 2015 Paris attacks, the 2015 Brussels bombing, and the 2016 Berlin assaults, with her outstanding reporter agility.

Even topics like airline mishaps and the United Kingdom’s withdrawal from the European Union were covered by Erin. Erin has also contributed to other high-profile stories and covered the 2016 Brit Awards for CNN.

Erin left CNN to begin her new career as a Foreign and NBC News Correspondent on MSNBC News. She joined MSNBC in October of this year. She does reports for NBC’s Weekend Today, The Today Show, NBC Nightly with Lester Holt, and Sunday Toast with Willie Geist.

Erin makes an estimated $80K annually as a correspondent for foreign media and has done so for more than ten years. Therefore, it is only reasonable to assume that she has amassed a sizeable fortune to this point.

Erin is a well-known figure in the journalistic industry, but she has kept her personal life as simple as possible.
