Channing On May 17, 1983, Thomas Frye, better known by his stage as Channing Frye, was born in White Plains, New York. He was Thomas Frye and Karen Mulzac-oldest Frye’s child.

Following his selection by the New York Knicks in the 2005 NBA Draft, Channing Frye made his NBA debut. In his first season with the team, he participated in 65 games and made just 14 starts. He did well, though, scoring 12.3 points and pulling down 5.8 rebounds per game.

Sadly, he was unable to participate in as many games as he had hoped to during his rookie NBA season. Then, on March 21, 2006, he suffered a left knee injury and was forced to sit out the remaining league games.

He made a comeback with the Knicks in the 2006–07 campaign after a lengthy absence. Despite starting more than 50 games and participating in 72 contests, he did not improve. He grabbed 5.5 rebounds and 9.5 points each game on average.
