By the end of the year, the majority of the top NFL free agents have been signed. However, few players have yet to be signed by a team this year.
Because they are not under contract, NFL-free agents can sign with any club or franchise. As a result, NFL free agency occurs all year. Teams scout players and attempt to sign them during the offseason.
There have been numerous instances where NFL free agents have been paid more. In addition, scouts sign more quarterbacks than any other NFL position among free agents.
Any team would like to find players with potential and skill sets who can help them improve their roster. Additionally, teams scout free agents in the market to address the team’s weaknesses.
We’re back today with a look at the top 25 NFL free agents in 2022. Unfortunately, none of these players have signed new contracts with any NFL team. Furthermore, with the end of the year approaching, the free agency landscape has become more defined.

1. Christopher Godwin
- Age: 26
- Position: Wide Reciever
Chris Godwin will lead off this list of NFL free agents in 2022. Godwin was born in Middletown, Delaware, and was selected 84th overall by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
On February 7, 2021, Godwin won his first Super Bowl championship. He led the Buccaneers to a 31-9 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. In 2019, he was named second-team All-Pro and played in the Pro Bowl.
To date, he has 301 receptions, 4,257 yards receiving, and 28 receiving touchdowns.
The Buccaneers placed Godwin on the franchise tag for $15.9 million on March 9, 2021, and he signed the contract on March 18.

2. Allen Robinson
- Age: 28
- Position: Wide Reciever
Allen Robinson, a wide receiver for the Chicago Bears, is the next free agent on our list. Robinson, who was born in Detroit, Michigan, made his NFL debut in 2014.
The Jacksonville Jaguars selected the 6ft 2-inch tall player in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft. Robinson spent four seasons with the Jaguars before retiring in 2017. Then, in 2018, he signed with the Chicago Bears.
Robinson made his first Pro Bowl appearance in 2015. He won the NFL receiving touchdown co-leadership the same year. As of week 10, 2021, his NFL statistics include 487 receptions, 6,338 receiving yards, and 40 receiving touchdowns.
Robinson was given the franchise tag by the Chicago Bears on March 9, 2021. On March 24, he signed a one-year tender.
3. Davante Adams
Davante Adams, a wide receiver, made his NFL debut in 2014 with the Green Bay Packers. The 29-year-old wide receiver plays for the Packers.
In the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft, the Packers selected the 6 ft 1 tall NFL player. And Adams has been with them since then, never changing teams.
Pro Bowl four times from 2017 to 2020, First-team All-Pro in 2020, and NFL receiving touchdowns leader in 2020 are among his career highlights.
As of Week 11, 2021, Adams’ NFL statistics include 618 receptions, 7,547 receiving yards, and 67 receiving touchdowns. Unfortunately, he has yet to be signed by a team in 2021.
4. Terron Armstead

Terron Armstead, the offensive tackle for the New Orleans Saints, comes next. In 2013, he began his professional football career in the NFL. The New Orleans Saints selected Armstead in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft.
He has been with the Saints since then, playing offensive tackle.
Armstead attended the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and was a member of the UAPB Golden Lions football team from 2009 to 2012.
His career highlights and victories include three Pro Bowl appearances from 2018 to 2020 and second-team All-Pro honors in 2018. Armstead has 94 games played and 90 games started in his NFL career as of week 8, 2021.
Unfortunately, he has not yet been signed by an NFL team for the 2022 season.
5. Alejandro Villanueva

Villanueva played football for the Army Black Knights during his freshman year. He went undrafted in the NFL draft in 2010, but he did get a tryout with the Cincinnati Bengals. However, he was unable to make the team.
Villanueva was one of 240 prospects invited to the NFL super regional combine in Detroit in 2014. He met with representatives from the Philadelphia Eagles there.
He later played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens after being signed by the Eagles. In 2017 and 2018, he was named to two Pro Bowls.
As of 2020, Villanueva’s career NFL statistics include 96 games played, 90 starts, 4 tackles, 1 reception, 2 receiving yards, 1 receiving touchdown, and 3 fumble recoveries.
Villanueva has agreed to terms with the Baltimore Ravens on a two-year, $14 million contract that will begin on May 4, 2021.

6. Justin Simmons

- Age: 28
Justin Simmions, a professional football safety for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League, is next on our list. Simmons played college football as a safety and cornerback at Boston College.
The Broncos selected Simmons in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft. Since then, he has been an active member of the Broncos.
Justin participated in private workouts with the Dallas Cowboys and the New Orleans Saints before the 2016 NFL Draft. He also went on pre-draft visits with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Detroit Lions.
DraftScout.com ranked Simmons as the fourth-best free safety prospect in the draft.
In 2019, he was named second-team All-Pro, and in 2020, he was named to the Pro Bowl. His career NFL statistics as of Week 10, 2021 show 410 tackles, 2 sacks, 46 pass deflections, 20 interceptions, 1 fumble recovery, and 1 touchdown.
Simmions was given the franchise tag for the second consecutive season by the Broncos. On March 19, 2021, he signed a four-year contract extension with the Broncos worth $61 million.
7. Chandler Jones

- Position: Outside Linebacker
Chandler Jones, an outside linebacker for the Arizona Cardinals, was drafted by the New England Patriots in the first round of the 2012 NFL draft.
He made his debut with the Patriots in 2012 and remained with them until the 2015 season. Then, beginning in 2016, he has been with the Cardinals.
Jones’s career highlights include Super Bowl champion (XLIX), two-time First-Team All-Pro (2017, 2019), three-time Pro Bowl (2015, 2017, 2019), and NFL sacks leader (2017).
Similarly, he was named to the NFL’s All-Decade Team in 2010, the NFC Defensive Player of the Year (2019), and the New England Patriots’ All-Decade Team in 2010.

8. Kenny Golladay

Kenny Golladay, a 28-year-old wide receiver for the New York Giants, is the next NFL free agent on our list. The Detroit Lions selected him in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
NFLDraftScout.com ranked Golladay as the 21st best wide receiver in the draft. He worked out privately and visited NFL teams such as the Detroit Lions, Pittsburgh Steelers, Green Bay Packers, and New Orleans Saints.
While playing for the Lions in 2019, Golladay led the NFL in receiving touchdowns. That season, he was also named to the Pro Bowl. He stayed with the Lions after his debut until 2020.
As of week 9, 2021, his career NFL statistics show 202 receptions, 3,378 receiving yards, and 21 receiving touchdowns.
Golladay signed a four-year, $72 million contract with the New York Giants on March 20, 2021.
9. Anthony Harris

Anthony Harris, 30, is a safety for the Philadelphia Eagles. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Minnesota Vikings in 2015.
Harris was invited to play in the 2015 Senior Bowl, but he was unable to participate due to a torn labrum suffered during his senior year. He went to the NFL Scouting Combine, but his injury limited him once more.
Before the NFL draft, Harris met with representatives from the Minnesota Vikings, New York Giants, and Detroit Lions. Following that, NFLDraftScout.com ranked him as the draft’s ninth-best free safety.
Harris has won NFL interception co-leader in 2019 since his debut. His career NFL statistics as of week 11, 2021 include 34 total tackles, 1 forced fumble, 4 fumble recoveries, 29 pass deflections, 10 interceptions, and 1 defensive touchdown.
Harris signed a one-year, $5 million contract with the Philadelphia Eagles on March 20, 2021.
10. Von Miller
- Position: Linebacker
Von Miller, a 33-year-old free agent, is an outside linebacker for the Los Angeles Rams. The Denver Broncos selected him second overall in the 2011 NFL Draft.
Miller participated in football during both his high school and college years. Miller was regarded by NFL draft experts and scouts as one of the best 3-4 outside linebackers available when he entered the 2011 NFL draft.
Miller was the first linebacker selected in the first round since LaVar Arrington in 2000. He was also named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2011.
Aside from that, Miller’s career highlights include Super Bowl champion, Super Bowl MVP, three First-Team All-Pro selections, and four Second-Team All-Pro selections.
Miller has also been named to the Pro Bowl eight times, as well as the Unanimous NFL 2010s All-Decade Team and the 100 Sacks club. Furthermore, as of 2022, he has the most career sacks of any currently active player.
