Mohamed Sanu Sr. was born in the United States, in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Samuel Sanu and Aminata Koroma are his parents.
Furthermore, the footballer comes from a Muslim family, and his parents are originally from Sierra Leone, a country on West Africa’s southwest coast. Similarly, Mohamed lived there for a time before returning to the United States.

Sanu signed a five-year contract with the Falcons after four seasons with the Bengals. He helped the Falcons finish first in the National Football Conference’s South Division in his first season with the team.
