Casey Stengel, a former professional baseball player from the United States, spent more than five decades as a manager. He received the most attention throughout his whole career as the New York Yankees manager. The squad he led to seven World Series was the same one.
He used to play with his left hand and was an outfielder for the National League’s Brooklyn Dodgers. He later played for several teams, including the Philadelphia Phillies from 1920 to 1921 and the Pittsburgh Pirates for a full season.
Unexpectedly, in 1923, he managed to hit 339 home runs for the New York Giants and win two World Series games.
Additionally, he was known for his hilarious double-talk and went by the moniker “The Old Professor.” He was more well-known for his antics than for his baseball acumen. He is no longer with us though. 1975 saw his passing.
