The center-back for Celta Vigo and gold medalist at the Olympics, Nestor Araujo, comes next. Nestor plays football for Mexico’s national team.
Araujo was a part of Cruz Azul’s youth system from 2007 until 2013. Later, in 2010, the athlete made his senior team debut with Cruz Azul.
The 30-year-old national team player made his international debut in 2011. Araujo made his professional debut before being loaned to Santos Laguna, where he later became a member of the team in 2014.
He won Liga MX twice while playing for Santos in over 100 games. In 2018, four years after being acquired by Santos, Celta acquired him.

5. Diego Lainez
Diego Lainez, a professional winger for the Mexican national team and Spanish football club Real Betis, is 22 years old. The American Youth Academy was where he began his professional career.
Lainez was a member of the youth academy from 2012 until 2017, at which point he was elevated to the senior team. He made his professional debut against Leon three days after making his debut in a game against Santos Laguna.
Lainez, who was 16 at the time, made his first team debut following his league debut. He was among the club’s youngest players to do so. In a similar vein, he made his debut for his country at the 2017 CONCACAF U-17 Championship.
Lainez committed to the Real Betis in 2019 for a $14 million, one-year deal. He was the Liga MX player who left the league at the youngest age. He was also the second-most costly Mexican player ever transferred to a European team.

4. Hector Herrera

Herrera attended the Pachuca youth program from 2007 until 2011. In the 2010 CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Tournament, the 32-year-old made his senior team debut. In the 2012 CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Tournament, Hector made his national team debut.
Herra joined Porto in 2013. Despite having a difficult first year with Porto, the player quickly established himself as a key member of the squad. He was also the team captain during the 2015–16 campaign.

2. Hirving Lozano

He participated in the Pachuca youth academy from 2006 to 2014. Later, Lozano joined the team and made his senior squad debut. He played 152 games for Pachuca, contributing 44 goals to the team’s total.
When Lozano joined PSV Eindhoven in 2017, he won the Eredivisie and was the team’s leading scorer in his first campaign. He was acquired by Napoli in 2019.

Raul Jimenez, a 31-year-old soccer player, is now our best Mexican player. He is a professional striker who competes for both the national team and Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers.
In 2008, Jimenez joined America Youth Academy to start his soccer career. He joined the team in 2011 and made his professional club debut. He was the team’s second-highest goalscorer and earned his first championship while playing for them.
Jimenez was similarly acquired by Benfica from 2015 to 2019 and Atletico Madrid from 2014 to 2015. With Benfica, he won back-to-back league titles while making 120 appearances and scoring 31 goals.
